Maths activities in 2nd class – making a shopping list, calculating costs and giving change!!

  

    

 

SCIENCE WEEK 

Skittles Rainbow

We placed some skittles on a plate and added a small drop of warm water to the centre of the plate – then we waited and watched…….

a rainbow appeared before our eyes  

     

Tornado in a Jar

We filled a jar 3/4 full of water, added a few drops of green food colouring, a teaspoon of wash up liquid and a teaspoon of vinegar.

We mixed the mixture with a spoon and a tornado appeared in the jar 

     

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT’S OFFICE

Today 2nd Class were delighted to receive a letter from the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins

We had fun ‘Printing’ in Art class

SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

This month in science we are looking at materials and change –

we made slime using plastic glue, baking soda, good colouring glitter and contact lense solution-

Mrs quigley mixed the ingredients together and it made a very runny slime!!!! Different materials mixed together changed and made something new

Working hard  and having fun Painting in class

         

    

Look how much we have improved at our dancing !!

 

2nd Class were very sad this week, when they heard that President, Michael D Higgins’ dog Sioda had died

They composed a poem and sent him a letter to pass on their sympathy. Hopefully this will make President Higgins and his family feel better
